Monday Fun Day

Monday's are bittersweet for me.  On a high note it's the start of a new week and to me that can be very exciting since I never know what my week is going to be like until it gets here.  On a low note it means the hubby is gone while he finishes his fieldwork.

As I look back this weekend was pretty good.  On Friday I went to my favorite Chiro and got adjusted and then chatted about Reiki.  I am excited that they are interested in it.  Then I went over to my favorite massage therapist and gave her a Reiki session.  I am hoping she e-mails me a testimonial because the way she explains what she felt before, during, and after is so eloquent.  On Saturday I went to a essential oil class about emotions.  It was a really good class.  I think I could do the protocol very easily during Reiki.  It's great at purging and balancing our emotions.

So what will this week bring?  Well my sister is coming over on Tuesday to get a Reiki session and then staying the night.  That will be nice.  On Friday I have two Reiki sessions back to back so that will be interesting.  Then we are off to my parents for Easter weekend.  I am also getting my list together of the essential oils I want to order on the 15th.  It's so hard to pick and choose since I want them all.  Right now I have the following list going for myself:

  • Joy (it's 10% off this month) I love this scent and it's great in so many ways for aromatherapy.
  • Thieves Mouthwash, I am so glad this is finally back in stock
  • Lavender, I go through about a bottle a month
  • PanAway, this is a new favorite for pain relief.  It's great on backaches, headaches, sore muscles...
  • Thieves Foaming Hand wash Refill, We love this soap in our house.
I would love to add more but there is always next month.  If you want to get in on free shipping let me know before April 15th and I'll add you to my order.  You can order direct if you want through Young Living.  Click on member sign up, then become a member.  Then you can choose to be a customer or a independent distributor.  A customer pays retail pricing.  If you are really into oils I recommend becoming a distributor because you get wholesale pricing.  Use member number 1310759 when you sign up for either choice.

Well I suppose I should get ready for my week.  Happy Monday everyone!

It's Official

Hello Rev. Konop,

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is to confirm that
Amber Elizabeth Konop
has been ordained as a minister of the
Universal Life Church, Modesto, California.
Date of Ordination: March 25, 2012
by Kevin Andrews, Pastor
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There are a few reasons I got ordained as a minister one if because you need to be either a part of the church or a licenced bodyworker (ie. massage therapist) to physically touch people.  Since I am not a massage therapist this option made sense to me.  Another reason is because many are concerned that Reiki is a religion.  It's not, and as a Christian woman I feel that it's God has brought me to this path.  I am here to help others help themselves in a more natural way than taking medicine.  Now Reiki is not a substitute for visiting your doctor and maintaining their recommendations.  Reiki is a way to align the energy centers in the body to allow it to heal itself more successfully.  There have been studies to show the benefits of Reiki and in many hospitals you can find practitioners helping others.  Getting ordained is allowing me to do this in a way that the government finds suitable.  I am not going to marry people or anything like that.  But more bridge the gap between energy healing and faith.  If you have any questions regarding Reiki please do not hesitate to ask or comment.  Now, I better get ready for my busy day.

Blessings,
Rev. Konop :)

Healing: Life

Life has been amazing since the last time I wrote.  The hubby came home for the weekend (which is always exciting since he's away for school the rest of the week), I got my Reiki 1 attunement, and I am finding myself so at peace.

It's amazing when everything starts coming together.  My massage table came in on the day I went to get my Reiki 1 attunement so I could start practicing right away.  I got some great tips and pointers from Amber, my master teacher on how to help people and make this my own.  My hubby has been super supportive which just tops everything off.  It's amazing to be completely happy.  I don't think many people are but right now I honestly cannot complain about anything.

In other news I am looking for people to practice on.  So if you are interested in a free session let me know.  It takes about an hour and I use both aromatherapy and reiki together to give you the ultimate experience.  I am hoping by the end of next month I can get my next attunement and then really focus on getting Ki Wellness up and running.  I am going to look through some more SBA stuff this week and figure out what's what.  Why do they have to make it so confusing?

Anyways, that is all I really have to report today.  I haven't done much else.  I better pick up the house though because right now it's a disaster!  Happy Sunday!

Reiki

Reiki is something I am passionate about.  It is something I feel called to do.  Many people do not know what it is or what it consists of.  This website has a great FAQ about reiki.

So what is my goal in all of this?  Well I want to incorporate aromatherapy and reiki together to provide a wonderful healing experience for those open to it.  Unlike massage, the client does not get undressed except to take off their shoes.  We use a light touch is specific areas to help align the energy in the body.  Most people feel supreme relaxation that helps assist the body in healing itself.  Many times it's used in conjunction with other therapies.  I love helping people and I fully believe that God has pointed me to this path and that this is the way I am meant to help people.

Aromatherapy to me is something I have really gotten into the past couple of years.  Scents can help our bodies in multiple ways whether internally, aromatically, or on the skin.  I just became a Young Living Distributor (I <3 this company!) and cannot wait to learn more from Jen Nordin as she is my guru.  It's my personal belief that when I combine these two things together my clients will have a wonderful experience.  That will aid them in ways they never thought possible.  My heart is so full with the possibilities!

Sick and Thinking

I have a head cold.  My husband can tell you I am not taking being sick well at all.  I haven't been sick in at least over a year since I started eating more raw.  Luckily, I had most of yesterday and all of today off from work.  Though I had planned on getting a bunch of things done today right now I am sitting on the couch writing this blog post.  There are times you just have to listen to your body and mine is saying I need a break.  I am listening to it even though my mind is telling me all the things I could be getting done.

I believe this all came around to give me time to really reflect on my life and where it is heading.  I've done a lot of thinking/planning/wishing lately.  I've been doing a lot of thinking of what I really want to do in life.  Jen and I had a wonderful talk last night when I saw her for a massage.  Right now I have a job, one I happen to be really good at and enjoy but not necessarily something I want to do for the rest of my life.  What do I really want to do?  I want a Reiki practice that incorporates aromatherapy to provide  powerful wellness management for those seeking it.  To do this I am getting my Reiki attunements, well at least the 1st one now and hopefully the 2nd one in the near future with the 3rd not too far off in the future.  I am trying to take all of Jen's aromatherapy classes with the hope that soon I'll be able to become a Young Living distributor.

If you follow this blog you know that I am a big proponent of essential oils and healthy living.  I want to be able to teach others who are interested how to follow this way of life.  I am so excited that I am actually getting started with all of this.  This is something more than a passing fancy, this is something I feel called to do.  My ultimate goal is to eventually open a practice.  I need to learn up though in how to start a business (right now all I really have is a hobby with Soapy Joes) and how to manage all of that.  I would love to offer sessions on Friday afternoons and maybe all day Saturdays and if it gets bigger, how exciting that would be.  I cannot wait for it all to come into place and I think it will.

Juice Feast: Day 6 & 7

Well I have officially been going at this for a week.  I have had some interesting things happen these past few days.  My eyes have been hurting and I have been tired.  Today I did forgo the juice feast and have something else.  My body said to do it so I did.  I think I just needed it.  I did consume only liquids up until that point.  The juice feast isn't over it just had a minor hiccup.  I think the hardest thing these past two days was having enough time to make enough liquids for the day.  For example: Today I didn't really have any time so I ended up having to grab something at the local health food store today for lunch.  I will share a recipe today.  The quart on the left of the picture was my breakfast on day 6.  It kept me full for most of the day.  Here's what's in it:
1 banana
1 cup Almond Milk (any other milk would be fine)
1 scoop Raw Protein Powder
3 tbsp Raw Almond Butter
1 tbsp Cinnamon
Blend all together until smooth.  It's awesome!

In other news on March 24th I am going to get my Reiki 1 attunement.  This will allow me to finally help others and myself with energy work.  If you don't know what Reiki is here's a simple explanation:

Reiki is a non-invasive, natural energy-based approach to healing. It supports your own healing processes by affecting the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. Widely known as an ancient method of healing and relaxation, Reiki has been successful when used to treat pain, stress, anxiety, insomnia, PMS and more. It can be used with anyone—children, the elderly, pregnant women and the very sick as there are no ill side-effects. Reiki is gentle and effective.

I am beyond excited.  I feel called to do this type of work.  I would love to eventually tie this in with aromatherapy to help others help their bodies be able to heal themselves and have a practice.  If you have never had a Reiki treatment you are really missing out.  It is an amazing experience.  Eventually I would like to get my Reiki 2 and 3 attunements.  But one step at a time.
