Green Clean

As I have been working on my health I have also been trying to green up the way we clean our home.  I don't want to breathe in those chemicals, get it on my skin, or have to watch out because of the dogs.  I have many friends who feel the same way for themselves, their children, and their pets.  So I have a wonderful recipe for toilet bowl cleaner.  Let's first look at the hazards of typical cleaners.  Here is the hazard information on The Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE: blue-green to green, clear, non-viscous liquid with wintergreen odor.

breath vapors. Use only with adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Do not mix with chlorine-type bleaches or

EYES: Causes severe eye burns. Do not get in eyes.

SKIN: Causes severe skin burns. Do not get on skin.

INGESTION: May be fatal if swallowed.

Scary huh!  And that is just one brand!  You can read the full information here.  So what's in my toilet bowl cleaner, well none of that!  It's only 3 ingredients that are non-toxic can be used around kids and pets with no worries.  There aren't any bad fumes and it works great.  So what do you need?

Ingredients

1 cup White Vinegar

1 capful Young Livings Thieves Cleaner

1/4 cup Baking Soda

How to

Pour vinegar and YL Thieves Cleaner into your toilet bowl.  Then add in the baking soda.  It will fizz and bubble.  Close your toilet lid and wait about 20 min.  Then use a toilet brush to clean your toilet and flush.  Voila, it's clean and disinfected!  The Thieves cleaner provides germ killing along with a nice smell and the baking soda provides some scrub action to clean stains.
